COVID-19: Nepal reports 316 new cases, total surges to 13,564



KATHMANDU: Nepal COVID-19 tally has reached 13,564 with the addition of 316 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that among the newly infected are 245 males and 71 females.

According to Dr. Gautam, four men from Saptari, one woman and nine men from Siraha, two men from Udayapur, two women and three men from Jhapa and two men from Sunsari have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection in a test conducted at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.

Similarly, in a test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Biratnagar, three men from Sankhuwasabha were found infected, in the test conducted at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, two women and 19 men from Saptari and test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Janakpur has confirmed coronavirus in 3 men from Dhanusha, 5 men from Rautahat and 29 men from Mahottari.

Similarly, 7 women and 20 men from Achham, one man from Bajura, two men from Kathmandu, two men from Rautahat, one man from Syangja, one man from Gulmi, one woman and one man from Sindhupalchowk, one man from Gorkha, one woman and seven men from Sarlahi, a woman from Bhaktapur and a man from Baglung tested positive at the National Public Health Laboratory.

Similarly, a man from Dadeldhura, a woman from Kathmandu and a man from Lalitpur have been diagnosed with the infection in the laboratory of Patan Hospital, Lalitpur.

Tests conducted at the laboratory of Bir Hospital have confirmed coronavirus infection in one woman of Achham, a man of Baitadi, a woman and 14 men of Doti.

Likewise, four women and five men from Kathmandu and one man from Myagdi have been diagnosed with corona infection in a test conducted at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

According to Dr. Gautam, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in one woman and eight men from Kaski, three women from Lamjung and one woman and two men from Syangja and three women and three men from Tanahun in tests in Pokhara.

Tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Rupandehi, confirmed the infection in 3 women and 5 men of Arghakhanchi, 3 women and 15 men of Palpa.

Similarly, a test conducted at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences Dang has confirmed coronavirus infection in one woman and one man in Salyan, two women and 19 men of Dang.

A test conducted at Karnali Institute of Health Sciences also confirmed the infection in one woman and seven men from Rukum West, 16 women and 32 men from Bajura, one man from Banke and three men from Dailekh.

Similarly, coronavirus infection has been confirmed one woman and two men of in Baitadi, one woman and one man of Bajura, two women of Dadeldhura and 13 women and two men in Doti and five men in Kailali tests in the laboratory of Seti Provincial Hospital

According to him, 4,711 samples were tested through the PCR method.

Likewise, 60 persons including 51 males and nine females were discharged from the hospital after being recovered from the pandemic virus in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of recovered people has reached 3,194.

Currently, 10,341 people are in isolation and 53,070 in quarantine centers across the country.

COVID-19 has spread to all 77 districts of Nepal.
