27 COVID-19 patients stay outdoors after BPKIHS denies admission

DHARAN: As many as 27 coronavirus-infected people from Kanchankawal Village in Jhapa were compelled to outdoors overnight on Friday as BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) denied admitting them.

They had reached Dharan from Jhapa at around 10 pm on Friday. When the hospital did not admit them, they were forced to stay in the bus overnight.

It is reported that they were not even provided with food.

At present, 67 people infected persons are undergoing treatment at the hospital and they were not admitted for lack of beds, the hospital said.

Dr. Nirdesh Sapkota, Spokesperson at the hospital said that after the arrival of the infected people from Jhapa, beds were arranged overnight and now they would be admitted.
