China handovers medical aid to Nepal



KATHMANDU: China has provided medical aid to Nepal to combat the novel coronavirus.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, on Sunday handed over medical supplies to Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.

Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Jack Ma Foundation, Sichuan Province and Alibaba Foundation, Sichuan Huashi Group Company Ltd., and China CAMC Engineering Company Ltd., jointly donated the medical aid including portable ventilators, kits, personal protective equipment, thermometers, and surgical masks to the government of Nepal.

Minister Dhakal extended the gratitude to government of China and the people for their support to the Nepali people.

Minister Dhakal said that the government the medical support materials will be distributed to hospitals throughout the country.

Chinese Ambassador Hou maintained that China is happy to extend its support to the Nepali people and government in the battle against coronavirus.

China donated a total of 2.5 tons of medical aid to Nepal that arrived on Sunday morning. A Nepal Airlines plane brought the medical aid from China.
