Bollywood actor Akshay donates Rs 25 crore to PM’s fund

NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who has remained been vocal about the novel coronavirus, and donated a sum of Rs 25 crore to the PM-CARES fund.

Ever since the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased in India, several Bollywood film personalities have constantly appealed to their fans to follow the rules set by the government, Indian media reports have said.

On March 28, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the CARES fund asking for donations to fight the coronavirus war.

Around 1,000 people in India have contracted the COVID019, while 21 people have already lost their lives.
