KATHMANDU: German Embassy in Kathmandu has demanded security from the Nepal government stating that the premises of the embassy has been encroached.

In a note verbale to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy urged the government to immediately take necessary steps to control the ongoing encroachment.

German Embassy had informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs twice in the period of two months in writing, seeking security for its properties.

The Embassy had written the first letter to the Foreign Ministry on December 11, 2019 and the second one on January 30, 2020.

In the note verbale, it has stated that the encroachment has violated the Vienna Convention.

A technical team of Shishir Nahata is bent on demolishing the compound wall of the Embassy thereby encroaching its premises, reads the letter.
