Nepal shines in many global indexes: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has boasted about the achievements made by the government after he assumed the office.

Apprising the Central Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) of the current status of the government at the City Hall in the capital on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli said that Nepal has made remarkable achievements in global indexes.

Oli further said that Nepal has climbed to 147th position from 149th in Human Development Index.

Similarly, Nepal has been ranked 76th out of 165 countries in Global Peace Index. It has also made improvement in corruption and gender equality indexes, he added.

Likewise, the country has been able to achieve 6.5 percent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) after the NCP took charge of the government. Earlier, the GDP was 4 percent.

The export has increased by 27 percent while the import has decreased by 4 percent during his tenure, Oli said.
