Lifespan of ‘autocrat’ Oli-led govt over: Madhav Nepal

'Oli has last chance to correct himself'

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the time for Prime Minister KP Oli to lead the government was over as he has adopted an authoritarian style.

“During an anti-monarchy movement, I had said that the lifespan of monarchy was over as it became a dictator. Addressing this huge gathering, I would like to say that the lifespan of Prime Minister KP Oli-led government that has also adopted an authoritarian style is now over,” leader Nepal said while addressing a protest assembly organized by his faction in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Stating the Prime Minister took undemocratic steps one after another, leader Nepal said that leaders took to the streets as PM Oli misused people’s mandate.

He further said that the Prime Minister has a last chance to correct himself.

Leader Nepal said that PM Oli was removed from the post of Chairperson after taking arbitrary steps in violation of party discipline but was not sacked from the post of the central member and party member.

“We have given him the last chance to correct his mistake,” Nepal said.
