Cold grips Valley as mercury dips to 1.1 degree



KATHMANDU: The normal life has been affected in the Kathmandu Valley after the temperature went down to 1.1 degree Celsius on Tuesday morning.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), this is a record low temperature of this year.

The temperature usually goes down when the sky is clear at night, according to the MFD. Earlier, the temperature of Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 1.3 degree Celsius on last Saturday.

The maximum temperature is expected between 17 to 19 degree Celsius during the day today.

Most parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley are covered in thick fogs, currently. This weather pattern is likely to continue for some days with chances of further decline in the temperature in the country.
