Muslim community in Pokhara stages anti-China demonstration

POKHARA: Muslim Welfare Society has staged a demonstration against China in Pokhara today.

The Society protested against China’s excessive repression upon Uighur Muslims in China.

“Muslims in Nepal are outraged by the situation of Uighurs in China,” the participants said.

They have been holding symbolic demonstrations in Nepal to show solidarity with the international community against the human rights violations of Muslims by China.

A few days ago, some Muslim organizations had staged protests in different parts of the country, including Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, a group of Muslim welfare activists in Pokhara have protested against the Chinese government’s crackdown on Uighurs and local Muslims in China.

Community leaders have said they will continue to monitor future developments in China and will launch further protests.
