Six Nepalis living abroad died from COVID-19 this week



KATHMANDU: As many as six Nepalis living abroad have succumbed to coronavirus in the last one week.

According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), with this, the number of Nepalis who died of coronavirus has reached 299.

Nepalis in 19 different countries have died so far.

According to the NRNA Union Health Committee, four Nepalis have died of the coronavirus this week in Saudi Arabia, one each in Portugal and the UK.

According to Dr Sanjeev Poudyal, Health Committee Convenor, Nepalis living in Japan, UK, Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia have been infected with coronavirus this week. As many as 47,583 non-resident Nepalis were infected in 45 countries till Saturday evening.

According to the association, 43,574 of those infected have been recovered from infection. The recovery rate stands at 91 percent.
