Protests staged against China’s encroachment, Xi Jinping’s effigy burnt



KATHMANDU: A group of around 50 youths affiliated to the Nepali Congress (NC) staged torch rallies in Bardiya and Surkhet against the ‘encroachment’ of Nepal’s land in Humla.

During the rallies, they chanted the slogan ‘Go Back China’ denouncing the encroachment by the northern neighbor.

They also burnt the effigy of Chinese President Xi Jinping in Bardiya.

Protests have been held in different parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley after it was revealed that China has allegedly constructed buildings in Nepal’s territory in Humla district.
