Boy killed after being shot mistakenly



KHOTANG: A 12-year-old boy died after being shot mistakenly at Aiselukharka rural municipality-4 in Khotang district.

Local resident Mankaji Tamang actually opened fire at monkeys, but mistakenly shot the boy named Shailesh Tamang, 12, to death.

The incident took place at Suthunibar, approximately one kilometer south of the house of the deceased on Friday night when Tamang had gone there to chase away monkeys, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Narayan Prasad Chimariya.

The police arrested Tamang. The body of the boy was handed over to his family after a post-mortem, said the police.

Detailed information about the incident was yet to come by, said Chimariya.
