Deuba expresses sorrow over demise of Maharjan



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of party leader Pannakaji Maharjan.

In a condolence message today, President Deuba expressed grief over the passing away of former regional president of constituency-5 Maharjan.

Maharjan, 67, died at his residence at Kathmandu metropolis-15, Dallu this morning. He has been active in politics since 2036 BS. Maharjan had discharged the responsibilities of the regional president of the party three times following the ninth general convention.

He had also served as the former senior vice-president of the Nepal Trade Union ad hoc committee Kathmandu. The late Maharjan had served jail life in course of the democratic movement of Nepal.

President Deuba extended tribute to the late Maharjan and also wished for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He also expressed condolence to the bereaved families.
