KATHMANDU:  Newly elected lawmaker of Samajwadi Party Lila Devi Sitaula is taking oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.

Speaker of House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota is administering oath of office and secrecy to Sitaula at 1 pm, said parliament secretariat.

Sitaula was next to the closed list of lawmakers under the proportional representation submitted to the Election Commission by Samajwadi Party.

The EC on Monday elected Sitaula to the post in line with the closed list.

The post had been vacant after SP expelled Giri for going against the party’s whip issued for the constitution amendment proposal.
