4-yr-old girl tests positive for COVID-19 in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR: A four-year-old girl has been infected with coronavirus at Bode of Madhyapur Thimi municipality.

The minor who was admitted to Kathmandu Medical College hospital based at Sinamangal in Kathmandu after she complained of stomach ache tested positive for coronavirus.  She had suffered from appendicitis, according to the hospital.

Her swab had been collected for coronavirus testing before her postmortem. The hospital had sent back her home saying that it would conduct postmortem on her only after the arrival of their swab report.

The minor girl’s swab report came out to be positive on Saturday evening. It was collected on June 25, according to Madan Sundar Shrestha, mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

She has been taken to TU Teaching Hospital for treatment. She has no travel history. Her house and its surrounding area have been sealed. Her family members have been kept in home quarantine.
