Health worker found dead in hotel room



KATHMANDU: A 22-year-old health worker living in a hotel at Myanglung-1, Buspark, Tehrathum was found dead on Monday.

According to police, the health worker of Menchheyam Rural Municipality was found dead in Santoshi Hotel.

When the police found that Khambar Singh Tamang of Tarakeshwor, Nuwakot, had been living in the room the girl was found dead, it arrested him for investigation.

The primary investigation has found that the girl had come to the hotel on May 25, two days after Tamang had come there.

The investigation showed that the unmarried woman who had committed suicide used to work as Assistant Midwife at Menchheyam Health Post for more than one and half years and Tamang was the contractor to make construct the health post building.

According to Nabin Pradhan, the Chief of Tehrathum Police Office, the woman and Tamang had been living like husband and wife there and were preparing to rent a room in Myanglung Bazaar.

According to him, the woman used to live in the health post’s quarter before.

The investigation has found that 38-year-old Tamang is married and has already two wives in Nuwakot.

Although Tamang claimed that he did not have any argument with the woman, police are planning to sue him for abetment to suicide.
