Rukum incident: Fifth out of six missing in Bheri river retrieved

RUKUM WEST: A body among those missing in the Bheri River following the heinous attack induced by inter-caste marriage issue has been found near Kalabhur of Bheri municipality.

With this, the number of bodies recovered so far has reached five. Six out of 18 people had dived into the Bheri river to save their lives from the brutal attack by the side of the girl who had an affair with a Dalit boy.

Police on Thursday arrested six more people involved at Soti village in Chaurjahari rural municipality of Rukum West on Thursday.

They were arrested in line with the FIR filed by the victims’ kin.  Victims’ kin had filed an FIR against 20 people for their involvement in the murder of the six people.

Earlier, police had arrested 12 people including. Police are searching for the remaining two people, said DSP Thak Bahadur KC, chief of Rukum West.

Out of six who went missing following the attack, the bodies of Nabaraj BK, Ganesh Budha of Bheri Municipality-4, Tikaram Sunar of Chaurjahari-1, Lokendra Sunar of Bheri municipality-11, Sanju BK of Bheri municipality-4 have been recovered. Police are searching Govinda Shahi in the Bheri river.
