KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has said it is committed to abide by the government’s direction in line with the Constitution of Nepal.

The NA said so in a press statement issued on Thursday night, refuting the news recently published by two Indian media.

Refuting the news published by www.hindustantimes.com and  www.tfipost.com , NA in the statement said, “The news is motivated by an ill-intent to spoil the age-old ties subsisting between the two friendly  nations and historical bond between the two armies.

On May 27, www.hindustantimes.com had published a new headlined ‘In huge setback to PM Oli, Nepal’s new political map hits a roadblock.’

Similarly, on May 28,  www.tfipost.com had published a news headlined Oli ordered Nepal Chief of Army to rebut Indian Army Chief’s remarks, the Nepalese General said “No, thanks”.

Both news seems to have connection with the objectionable remark recently given by Indian Army Chief MM Naravane on Nepal’s disputed land Lipu Lekh.

Meanwhile, NA has dubbed the news ‘baseless and misleading’ and motivated by an ill-intent, urging one and all not to believe such remarks.
