Over 10,400 PCR tests conducted in Nepal so far



KATHMANDU: As many as 10 thousand 471 tests have been conducted by employing the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method for coronavirus in Nepal so far.

Likewise, tests have been conducted on 53 thousand 534 people, the Ministry of Health and Population has said.

Two thousand 184 people were tested on Monday alone.

Meanwhile, 16 out of the 52 persons receiving treatment for COVID-19 have returned home after recovery.

According to the Ministry, 36 people, who are currently under treatment, are in good health.

The Ministry said 4,545 people in State-1, seven thousand 626 people in Bagmati State, four thousand 926 people in Gandaki State, three thousand 471 people in State-5, five thousand 228 people in Karnali State and 11 thousand 961 people in Sudur Paschim State have undergone testing as per the RDT method so far.

Likewise, 20,195 people are in quarantine while 106 people are kept in isolation across the country.

Among them, eight people are kept in isolation in Kathmandu Valley and 98 other are in isolation in various districts.
