NCP likely to hold its Secretariat meeting today

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is likely to hold a meeting of its Secretariat today.

A meeting of leaders representing two different groups of the leaders of the party had on Monday agreed to summon the Secretariat meeting to settle the intra-party feuds.

The Secretariat meeting will decide whether to summon the Standing Committee meeting or not, according to Standing Committee member loyal to leader Nepal group, Raghuji Pant.

Monday’s meeting was attended by Bishnu Poudel, Ishwor Pokharel, Shankar Pokharel and Pradeep Gyawali representing Prime Minister KP Oli faction, while Bhim Rawal, Raghuji Panta and Surendra Pandey represented leader Nepal.

During the meeting, leader Nepal was adamant that a policy of ‘one person, one post’ should be implemented within the party.

Earlier on Monday, with the intra-party wrangling gaining a new height in NCP, leader Nepal and PM Oli had held about an hour-long one-on-one talk.
