KAILALI: Kailali Police has arrested Amar Rana alias Suk Bahadur, the mastermind behind the murder of two police personnel in the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police squad deployed from District Police Office, Kailali apprehended 34-year-old Suk Bahadur from Phulbari of the district on Sunday, said SP Anupam Shamsher Rana, chief of District Police Office, Kailali.
Two police personnel ASI Govinda BK and Ram Bahadur Saud of Jugeda Police Post were killed allegedly by smugglers including Suk Bahadur while the former were trying to nab them on October 17. The smugglers were smuggling peas into India from Nepal.
“We have arrested Suk Bahadur following information that he came back to Nepal from India on Sunday,” said SP Rana, adding, “He is the mastermind behind the murder of the police personnel.”
Suk Bahadur is involved in the Nepal-India cross border smuggling, said Rana.
