100 percent voter turnout at FNCCI polls, counting to begin soon



KATHMANDU: A 100 percent voter turnout has been recorded in the election held on Saturday for the election of new leadership under the 54th General Assembly of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The election committee has said that the election results will probably come on Saturday night. As the voting is over, the counting of votes will start after completing the necessary process.

As many as 1,116 voters cast their votes to elect a new 65-member executive committee of the organization.

Incumbent Senior Vice President is automatically be elected to the post of President as per the statute of the FNCCI through the general meeting.

The others to be elected include 64 executive members including one Senior Vice President, Associate Vice President, Vice President of Commodities, and District Municipal Vice President.

Kishore Pradhan and Chandra Dhakal are in the fray for the post of Senior Vice President. Both the panels are contesting the elections.

FNCCI is the umbrella organization of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It was established in 1965 with the aim of promoting business and industry while protecting the rights and interests of business and industrial communities.
