Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane tests positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has tested positive for coronavirus.

Posting a messag on social media, Lamichhane said,”  I have been diagnosed with COVID-19. I had been suffering from body aches since last Wednesday. The report of PCR test came out positive on Friday. My health condition is gradually improving.”

He futher says he is in home is home isolation now and will join the closed session training as as soon as he recovers.

Lamichhane was attending a closed session training of the national cricket players before leaving for Australia.

The Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) has been organizing the closed session  training since Wednesday. It had conducted PCR tests on all the partcipants on Tuesday itself. As many as 22 players are partaking in the training organized by Cricket Association Nepal (CAN).

Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane signed a contract with Hobart Hurricanes to take part in Big Bash cricket tournament to be held in Australia.

Hurricanes hired Lamichhane following the expiry of his contract with Melbourne.

Lamichhane, who made a debut in Big Bash League in 2018, has already performed twice in the Australian match through Melbourne Stars.

He had claimed 26 wickets in an average of 19.80 in 20 games.
