Fire in soyabean factory guts property worth millions



DHANGADHI: A fire that broke out at a soyabean factory in Kailali district has gutted property worth millions of rupees on Wednesday morning.

According to District Police Office (DPO), Kailali the fire that started at Balayar Soyabean factory in Tikapur municipality at 4 am today damaged property worth around Rs 40 million.

“A preliminary investigation shows the fire could have been caused due to a short circuit,” the DPO, Kailali said.

The storehouse and the structure of the factory have been badly damaged by the fire.

The fire was contained at around 6 am with the joint efforts from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, the locals and the fire brigade of Tikapur municipality.
