KATHMANDU:  Smelling a rat on NCP Chair Oli faction’s intent of registering a no confidence motion against him yet again, Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of Karnali Pradesh recommended to end the ongoing session of the province assembly.

After finding that the Prime Minister KP Oli faction with the support of six Nepali Congress lawmakers has planned to table a no confidence motion in the assembly again, the cabinet meeting held on October 24 decided to recommend to prorogue the session.

According to a minister in the Shahi’s cabinet, the recommendation has already been sent to the Province Chief.

Earlier, on October 11, eighteen members of Province Assembly, all from ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), had registered a no confidence motion against the Karnali Chief Minister Shahi.

Among the agitating NCP lawmakers, eight were from Oli faction, seven from Madhav Kumar Nepal faction and three from another Chairman of NCP Prachanda faction.

However, following a cordial meeting between Dahal and Nepal, the Nepal faction had backed off from the move of no confidence motion against Shahi.

According to the sources, Chief Minster Shahi is mulling over reshuffling the cabinet including three more ministers from the Nepal faction.
