Over 74.1% of people infected with COVID-19 recover in Nepal

KATHMANDU: With the recovery of 3,168 individuals in the past 24 hours, the number of people winning the battle against the pandemic has reached 118,843 in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, out 160,400 infected cases, 74.1 percent (118,843) people have recovered from the virus until Tuesday.

A total of 14 people died of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 876 until Tuesday, according to the Ministry.

Meanwhile, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 160,400 as of Tuesday afternoon after 570 persons tested positive for coronavirus in a single day.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 2,725 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

Nepal currently has 40,681 active cases.

Likewise, 2,932 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Similarly, , 281 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 71 have been put on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry, 30 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, nine in Province 2, 178 in Bagmati Province, 13 in Gandaki Province, 42 in Lumbini Province, four in Karnali Province, and five in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of seven in Province 1, two in Province 2, 53 in Bagmati, one in Gandaki Province, and eight in Lumbini Province are on the ventilator support.
