Province 1 logs 83 fresh COVID-19 cases



BIRATNAGAR: Province 1 recorded 83 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, the cases were diagnosed when 922 samples were tested at different laboratories.

A total of 36 people are from Sunsari, 30 from Morang, four from Okhaldhunga, two each from Khotang and Jhapa, one each from Dhankuta and Ilam and seven from outside Province 1.

According to the ministry, the reports of seven women, seven men in Sunsari’s Dharan, two women in Itahari, nine men and three women in Duhabi, five men and one man in Harinagar and two men at an undisclosed local level were positive.

The infection has been confirmed in six women and 10 men in Biratnagar Metropolitan City of Morang, six men in Budhiganga, one woman in Belbari, one man and one woman in Sundaraharaincha, one man in Urlabari and two men and one woman of an undisclosed local level.

One woman and two men in Siddhicharan of Okhaldhunga, one man in Sunkoshi, one man in Anselukharka of Khotang and one man of an undisclosed local level have contracted the coronavirus.

One man each in Mechinagar and Birtamode of Jhapa, one woman each in Dhankuta and Ilam and three women and four men from Province 1 received positive reports, according to the ministry.

With the cases, the coronavirus tally in the province has reached 6,519.

Meanwhile, 44 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours. So far, 2,868 have recovered from the coronavirus.
