Gambling in school: 11 including Principal arrested



CHITWAN: 11 persons including school principal have been arrested while playing cards in a school in Chitwan.

According to DSP Surya Thapa, the information officer at the District Police Office Chitwan, police have arrested the principal and others playing cards in classroom at the Little Heaven School, Kharahani.

“When the police reached school on a tip off that people were gambling there, we found 11 people playing cards in a classroom,” he said.

The police have seized Rs 45,640 and cards from the spot.

DSP Thapa informed that all the arrested are the inhabitants of Kharahani-2 and they will be sued for gambling offense.

All the schools of the country are shut down since the enforcement of lockdown.

With the plan to resume the schools at the earliest, the government had evacuated the schools formerly used as isolation center.
