KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bamdev Gautam has floated a new proposal at a time when the intra-party feud has taken a new height.
Vice Chairman Gautam has put forward a six-point proposal in order to thrash out differences seen especially between Dahal-Nepal and Oli camps.
According to the proposal, Oli will take charge as the chairman of the party until the upcoming general convention and as the prime minister until the remaining term of the current House of Representatives.
Similarly, Pushpa Kamal Dahal will take charge as the executive chairman of the party until the coming general convention while the general convention will be held on consensus basis, reads the proposal.
The other points include allowing the prime minister to carry out day to day affairs without interventions, except those issues of national and international importance.
The government has to consult the Party’s Secretariat on such issues prior to taking a final call.
Likewise, the Secretariat advice is mandatory when it comes to cabinet reshuffling, political and constitutional appointments and presenting budget and policy and programs of the nation.
The other proposal is to conduct party meetings from the party office itself.
