‘Song Of Clouds’ wins award in Asolo Art Film Festival



KATHMANDU: Nepali movie ‘Song of Clouds’ has won an award at the Asolo Art Film Festival in Italy. The award carries a purse of 500 Euros.

The film was directed by Ankit Poudel.

The film, which is made by imagining life after death, has won the award under the art film genre.

The film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January this year.

Similarly,, the film was screened at Atlanta Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Festival, the Norwegian Short Film Festival, Doku Fest and other film festivals.

The film has also won a Bronze Remi Award at the World Fest–Houston International Film Festival.

Ankit, who graduated in filmmaking from Oscar College in Kathmandu, is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in filmmaking from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the United States.

Ankit said that the film ‘Song of Clouds’ has also been selected for a few more festivals, but it is yet to be announced.

Ankit, who has been working as a cinematographer for more than 20 years, has made this film, and has shown a good sign that Nepali filmmakers have ability to reach out to the international audience.
