Entrepreneurs call for free rental during lockdown
Nepal National Entrepreneurs Association has demanded that the rental should be waived during the lockdown period.
The Association called for free rental arguing that all the shops were closed down during the lockdown and the business could not pick up even after the lockdown modality underwent changes.
Issuing a press note , Chairman of the Association said the entrepreneurs are these days struggling hard to solve hand-to-mouth problems, let alone the rental payment for the shutters due to the recession caused coronavirus-induced lockdown.
The Association has demanded that the rent should be waived not only for some time but for the entire lockdown period.
Remittance transfer through mobile wallet
Khalti Mobile Wallet has announced that transfer of remittance from Japan and Korea is now available through mobile.
This service is operated in collaboration with City Express Money Transfer and its sister organisations, City Express Money Transfer Japan and South Korea’s G-money Transfer.
Khalti Mobile Wallet has expressed the belief that this new service for receiving remittance online in mobile will greatly ease the transfer and receipt of remittance from these two countries.
Nepalis in Japan can directly send money in their relatives’ Khalti Mobile Wallet account by visiting the nearest agent of City Express Money Transfer.
Those Nepalis who want to remit money from Korea can transfer through the mobile app itself.
Nepalis stranded in Japan asked to fill out forms by June 30
Nepali Embassy in Japan has said Nepali people who are willing to come back to Nepal have to fill out forms by June 30.
Issuing a press note, the Embassy set the deadline to fill out forms for those Nepalis who could not come back by the previous flights.
Earlier, the Nepal government brought back stranded Nepalis from Japan on June 20 and 25.
Six industries penalized for flouting standards
The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology has punished six industries for not adhering to the Nepal Standards.
The decision to penalize the industries was reached after a sample taken of the goods produced by those industries showed that the quality standards were not met.
The samples were collected during a surprise monitoring carried out in the local market.
The NBSM on Friday took legal action against the Reliance Supertech Cement private limited, Bara, International Cement private limited, Parsa, Everest Gas Industry private limited, Kathmandu, Agni Cement, Rupandehi, Sarbottam Cement, Nawalparasi and Kamal Rolling Mills, Morang.
Among them, the license of Reliance Cement and International Cement has been annulled, while the license of Everest Gas has been withheld. Likewise, clarification has been sought from other industries.
