Man who died in Nepal-India border area tests positive for coronavirus

KATHMANDU:  A youth who died in Nepal-India border area while heading back to his home district Arghakhanchi tested coronavirus positive posthumously.

A youth of 34 years from Bhumikasthan Municipality-9, Charepani who died on Nepal-India while trying to return home has tested positive in the posthumous coronavirus test, according to Arghakhanchi Chief District Officer Vijay Raj Poudel.

The youth had died on May 23 in the Nepal-India border area while on his way back home.

The youth’s body was brought to Kapilvastu for postmortem and his swab was sent for test posthumously.

Bijaya BK, the information official at Arghakhanchi Hospital confirmed that the swab which was sent to Bhairahawa Public Health Laboratory has got coronavirus positive result.

The last rites of the deceased are carried out in Sandhikharka, Arghakhanchi.

According to information official BK, the contact tracing of the people who came in contact with the deceased is going on.

Dr. Kapil Gautam of Arghakhanchi Hospital shared that the hospital was planning to collect the swab of the people who had come in contact with the deceased.

Earlier, a 29-year-old woman from Sindhupalchowk, a 25-year-old man from Narainapur, Banke, a 41-year-old man from Gulmi, a 70-year-old man from Kalaiya, Bara and a 55-year-old man from Lalitpur-22 were confirmed to have died from coronavirus.
