KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 5.40 billion for the Melamchi Drinking Water Project.

Presenting the budget for the coming fiscal year in Parliament, Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada informed that Rs 5.40 billion has been allocated for Melamchi.

He also announced to start the distribution of water in Kathmandu at the beginning of next year after completing the work within the current fiscal year.
