Rs 36.2 billion allocated for construction of transmission line

KATHMANDU: The government has announced that the Upper Tamokoshi and Upper Sanjen hydropower projects will be completed in the coming fiscal year.

Unveiling the budget for the coming fiscal year, Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada said that 1,300 units of electricity will be connected to the national transmission line after completion of the projects.

He said that Rs. 36.2 billion has been allocated for the transmission line.

Likewise, Rs 4 billion has been allocated for rural electrification. The government has announced to add another 50,000 biogas plants.

Similarly, Rs 4.13 billion has been allocated for alternative energy and Rs 2 billion has been allocated for the development of electricity in urban areas.
