Ex-Minister Sha convicted of graft, money laundering



KATHMANDU: Former Minister Sanjay Kumar Sha, currently facing life imprisonment for the Janakpur bomb explosion, has been convicted in corruption and money laundering cases.

A bench comprising of Judges Krishna Giri, Shanti SinghThapa and Chandra Bahadur Saru at Special Court convicted Sha.

Sha is currently doing time at Nakkhu Jail in Lalitpur.

The court sentenced Sha to four years in jail and a fine of Rs 190 million in the corruption case. The court will determine punishment against him in a money laundering case later.
