CPN (ML) Gen Secy Mainali airlifted to Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party Marxist-Leninist, CP Mainali, seriously injured in a road mishap has been airlifted to Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon.

He was airlifted to Kathmandu through a chopper of the Nepal Army (NA). The chopper carrying Mainali landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Mainali is being taken to the Dhapasi-based Grande Hospital for treatment on an ambulance. A team of doctors led by Dr. Suraj Gyawali has reached TIA to receive him.

Mainali has sustained injuries in his leg and head.

The accident occurred when his car Ba 7 Cha 2120 coming to Kathmandu from Jhapa collided head-on with a pick-up van Na 4 Cha 7680 coming from the opposite direction in Bardibas of Mahottari district.

Five including Mainali, his son Saroj, 30, daughter-in-law Puja Dhungana, five-year-old grandson, and driver Ram Prasad Poudel have been injured in the accident.
