Amid political crisis, NEPSE falls by 40 points

KATHMANDU: Amid the ongoing political confusion in the country, the stock market has fallen by 40 points.

As displayed by NEPSE index, the shares of all the traded groups fell by 39.98 points to 1988.65 points today.

According to the statistics, the life insurance group fell by 519 points, non-life insurance group by 238 points and hotel by 93 points on Sunday.

Similarly, the share of manufacturing has fallen by 46 points, micro-finance by 42 points, bank by 23 points, hydropower by 30 points and other groups by 43 points.

According to sources, a total of 81.77 million shares of 204 companies were traded at Rs 4.62 billion when the highest turnover of Rs 669.5 million was recorded in Nepal Life Insurance.

The investors of Soltee Hotel and Bishal Bazaar Company turned out to be the biggest loser on Sunday as they lost more than five percent.

However, the investors of Narayani Development Bank earned about nine percent on the same day.
