Japan bans entry to foreigners including Nepalis

KATHMANDU: As a measure to curb a new variant of coronavirus, Japan has decided to ban foreigners including Nepalis from entering Japan from Monday.

After finding a new type of coronavirus cases in Japan, the citizens of ten more countries have been banned.

Japan’s government has decided to impose a travel ban on the citizens of more than 150 countries of the world including the USA, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and most European countries including the UK. Nepal is also on the list of banned countries.

However, the government has not banned travelers of ten countries including Thailand,, Vietnam, South Korea, and Taiwan.

According to the government sources, Japan will close its borders from December 28 to January 31 to all new foreign arrivals except foreign residents of Japan and business travelers from a small number of countries.
