Kathmandu Valley witnesses 822 new COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 822 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 599 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 63 in Bhaktapur, and 160 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,703 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 229,343 with fresh cases as of Friday afternoon.

A total of 1,236 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 209,435 in the country.

Nepal currently has 17,237 active cases.

Likewise, 601 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 23 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,435, the Ministry confirmed.
