People above 60 years of age urged to stay indoors



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has appealed people above the age of 60 in Kathmandu, Morang, Chitwan and Surkhet districts to refrain from coming out of their houses.

Dr Jageshwar Gautam, Spokesperson at the Ministry, urged those persons, and patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer and kidney disease to stay indoors claiming that the risk of infection is high in these districts.

The ministry has also asked such people to wear masks mandatorily if they need to go out of the house.

The ministry also suggested them to maintain physical distance of at least two meters besides washing hands with soap and water after returning from work.

The infection rate in the densely populated cities, including the Kathmandu Valley has increased of late.

It should be noted that as many as 809 persons have been infected with coronavirus in the Kathmandu Valley alone in the last 24 hours.
