8,000 persons test positive for COVID-19; 65 die in Kathmandu Metropolis

KATHMANDU: A total of 16,850 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Likewise, 365 unidentified people have been infected with the virus in the metropolis while 65 infected people have lost their lives.

According to the data provided by the Metropolis, the number of infected people living in home isolation is increasing while the number of people living in hospital and institutional isolation is decreasing.

Currently, 2,526 persons are in home isolation in the Valley. The number of active cases is 3,686. There are 698 in institutional isolation centers and 462 are in different hospitals.

So far, 3,844 people have recovered from the virus in the metropolis. Likewise, the KMC has carried out the done contact tracing of around 17,443 people.

As many as 10 percent of them have reported positive. The reports of 1,740 people have come positive through contact tracing.

There are more than 200 infected people in 16 wards of Kathmandu Metropolis. Out of them, most of the infected are in Swayambhu.

At least 724 people have confirmed infected and four have died. Infection has been confirmed in 549 people in the adjoining ward No. 16 Balaju.
