1,573 fresh cases propel Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload to 73,394



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population says as many as 1,573 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the past 24 hours.

A total of 10,123 persons underwent PCR tests at various laboratories across the country, said Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam.

At a regular press briefing on Sunday, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam informed that the latest update has taken the infection to a total of 73,394 in the country.

During the period, 885 infected persons restored their normal health. With this, the number of those recovering from the coronavirus has reached 53,898

The Ministry argued that the recovery rate at present is 73.4 percent.

Currently, there are 19,019 active cases of coronavirus. The institutional isolation have housed 8,321 infected persons and home isolation have 10,698.

Similarly, there are 6,281 persons in quarantines.

Moreover, the number of people receiving treatment at ICU stands at 225, while 33 are in ventilator support.

10 persons lost lives to the coronavirus as per recent updates. The latest update reached the total death toll to 477.
