Preparation on to operate homestay mixing Hindu and Kirant cultures in Halesi



KHOTANG: Preparation has been stepped up to operate three home stay in Halesi of Khotang – a tri-junction of the Hindu, Buddhists and Kirant religious people.

The home stay are to be operated at Halesi Tuwachung municipality-7, Mahadevsthan targeting the domestic and foreign tourists. The government-formed Halesi Development Committee is taking the initiative for the setup and operation of home stay.

Halesi development committee chair Tanka Rai shared preparation was underway to operate two Kirant culture based homestay at Lower Malku and Aiselukharka and Hindu culture based homestay at Upper Malkhu.

“Separate committees have been formed in three areas. Preparation of training on the operation of homestay and construction of necessary infrastructure has been expedited”, shared committee chair Rai, also the former parliamentarian.

He said the homestay business would promote local products and thereby take the locals to the path of self-reliance.
It may be noted that the Nepal government had put forward a development plan of Halesi through a separate committee since 2053 BS.

The government floated a plan to develop the place as a tri-junction of three religious communities.
