Surkhet Provincial Hospital shuts down OPD service after six doctors infected with COVID-19



KARNALI: Six doctors of Surkhet Provincial Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the hospital sources, two consultants and four medical doctors are among those infected. Likewise, one more health worker has also been diagnosed with the COVID-19.

Infection cases are increasing in a large number at the COVID-19 Special Hospital due to those infected people who have not yet been diagnosed, according to Dr Dambar Khadka, the director of the hospital.

Currently, as many as 23 people are undergoing treatment at COVID-19 Special Hospital.

Meanwhile, the hospital has shut down its outpatient service for a week starting today after infections were found in doctors.

Earlier, three doctors were infected with COVID-19 at the hospital.
