Kathmandu Valley confirms 6 new coronavirus cases

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population of Monday said that six people in Kathmandu Valley have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that three from Lalitpur tested positive in tests carried out at Patan Hospital.

Likewise, a swab sample of a person from Kathmandu came positive for the pandemic at tests at TU Teaching Hospital and one from Lalitpur was diagnosed positive at Star Hospital.

Nepal reported 139 new cases taking the caseload to 18,752.

Meanwhile, three deaths— one each in Bara, Parsa and Dhanusha— have been confirmed in the past 24 hours. Nepal’s death toll from the pandemic stands at 48.
