India directs Nepal not to allow Nepalis into disputed territories

KATHMANDU: The India government has sent a letter to the Nepal government directing the latter not to allow Nepalis to enter disputed territories including Limpiyadhura and Kalapani.

India directed the District Administration Office, Darchula in writing not to send Nepali people to Gunji, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura claiming that these territories belong to India.

Dharchula Administration of India in a letter sent on July 14 had stated that Nepalis have been stealthily entering the disputed territories with intent of drawing media attention.

“Nepali people in different groups are stealthily entering Indian territories including Gunji, Kalapani, Limpiyadhura with intent of drawing media attention,” reads the letter sent by Dharchual administration.

On May 20, the Nepal government had made public a revised map of Nepal including Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani.

This newly revised map of Nepal was endorsed by the Nepal’s federal parliament on June 13.

On the other hand India has been building infrastructures claiming that these territories belong to India.

The Nepal-India relation has sourced of late following the endorsement of the newly revised map of Nepal by the parliament.
