Financial assistance for setting up coronavirus testing lab

JHAPA: The International Jhapali Society has provided a financial assistance of Rs 2.5 million for purchasing a PCR machine for the coronavirus testing laboratory at Kotihom, Kankai municipality-4 in Jhapa district.

The initiative for setting up the lab has been done from the people’s level after increment in the number of COVID-19 cases in the district.

A campaign called ‘One for Each One’ was also launched in Jhapa district for this purpose.

Vice-president of the International Jhapali Society, Nabin Pokharel, handed over a cheque for Rs 2.5 million send by the Society to the Campaign coordinator Mahendra Kumar Giri and joint-coordinator Binod Basnet.

The cooperatives running in Jhapa had also provided Rs 2.5 million for this cause before this.

The Campaign collected around Rs 12.5 million and a coronavirus testing laboratory has been set up at Kotihom.

Preparations are being made to hand over the laboratory to the State-1 government.
