Govt must provide relief to journalists: Deuba

KATHMANDU:  Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to bring a special package to save media houses and journalists who have been hit hard by corornavirus pandemic.

Speaking at a virtual program organized on the occasion of 29th Establishment Day of Nepal Press Union on Tuesday, President Deuba said the government has to bring a relief program to save media houses and the journalists.

Saying that the field of communication and the journalists associated with them have been seriously affected by the novel virus, Deuba said the government should be serious about it.

Both big and small media houses have been hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, said Deuba, adding, “There is a crisis of advertisement which is the lifeline of the media houses.”
