Coronavirus death toll in USA reaches nearly 100,000



KATHMANDU: The death toll in the United States of America has reached nearly 100,000 in the period of five months.

America has reported 504 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 99, 804.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 19, 718 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,706,154.

Currently, 1,143, 586 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 17, 114 are critical.  Meanwhile, 462, 664 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 29, 310 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 11, 155 and 6,416 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 347,854 and infecting 5,586, 954 people so far.
