People’s representatives organize picnic during lockdown



KAILALI: People’s representatives who are supposed to make people aware that they should stay indoors during the lockdown have been involved in a merry-making and social gathering.

Representatives including the chief of of Jorayal rural municipality of Doti were found participating in a picnic at a time when the country has imposed lockdown to stem Coronavirus spread.

According to a video that went viral on social networking sites, a picnic has been organized at Sirad of Jorayal rural municipality-4 in which people’s representatives are seen dancing recently.

Chief of rural municipality Durga Ojha, Ward Chair Nanda Raj Bhatta, Principal of Ganteshwor Secondary School Sun Lal Thapa participated in the picnic program. No one is seen maintaining social distancing.

Chief of Jorayal rural municipality Ojha has admitted that the picnic was organized to celebrate the moment of happiness when the road reached remote Magar village.
